Faustino T. Monteiro

MONTEIRO, FAUSTINO T., age 82, of Woodman St., died Tuesday, June 10, at the RI Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Joana V. Monteiro.

Born June 1, 1926 in San Antao, Cape Verde Island, he was a son of the late Luis F. Ramos and Teodora J. Monteiro.

In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves his children, Antonio Monteiro of Pawtucket, Gil Monteiro of Warwick, Carlos Monteiro of Providence, Teodora M. Alexander of Waterford, CT, Michelle Monteiro of East Providence, and Maria Monteiro of Providence; 5 grandchildren, Carlton, Asha, Meena and Ravi Alexander and Vivianne Monteiro. He was the brother of Sergio, Carlos and Laura Monteiro, Manuel, Necas, Valente, Julietta, Margarida and Lourdes Ramos, ZiZi Ponte, Luisa Landu-Gomes and Rosa Guilherme. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Friday at 8:45am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse St., Providence. Burial will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-8 pm.
