Louise E. (Mendes) Cote, 92, of South Main Street, Attleboro, died on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest P. Cote, Sr.

She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on March 8, 1916 to parents whom immigrated to the United States from the Cape Verde Islands – the late James and Mary (Issac) Mendes. She moved from Worcester with her family and settled in the City of Attleboro when she was age 13. She remained an Attleboro resident for the past eight decades.

Mrs. Cote was a loving, caring and devoted homemaker to her large family.

She was a longtime communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Seekonk.

Mrs. Cote enjoyed playing cards, sewing, going to the movies, time spent out to eat and shopping.

And, did she ever love her jelly donuts!

Although many interests and hobbies; none compare to her immense love for her family and the treasured moments spent in their company.

Mrs. Cote leaves eight children: Shirley Lopes of Attleboro; Dolores Brooks of Cranston; Beverly Avellar of Barton, Vermont; Ernest Cote, Jr. of Attleboro; Richard Cote of Attleboro; Joyce Taylor of Attleboro; Pearl Cote of Attleboro and Michael Cote of Attleboro and five generations of grandchildren.
