May Gonsalves

WAREHAM — May (Barrows) Gonsalves, 82, of Wareham died June 20, 2008 in the Forestview Nursing Home, Wareham. She was the widow of the late John Gonsalves and the daughter of the late Amaro G. and Laura (Martin) Barrows.

She was born in Wareham and lived there all of her life.

Mrs. Gonsalves worked as a cranberry screener for many years before retiring.

She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary #69 in Wareham and St. Mary's Church, Onset.

Survivors include her sister, Emily Baptiste of Onset. A brother, James Barrows predeceased her; several nephews and nieces including Linda Baptiste, Julie Jean Baptiste and Laurie Silva.

Her funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rte.28), Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Onset. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wareham.
