Miranda, Maria Pinto Darosa Brockton Maria Pinto DaRosa Miranda, 57, of Brockton, died Monday, June 16, 2008, at her home in Brockton, under the care of her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Jose DaRosa. Born Dec. 25, 1950, in Brava, Cape Verde, she was a daughter of Francisca (Lopes) Pinto of Brockton and the late Joao Antonio Pinto. Mrs. Miranda was a seamstress before her illness. She was devoted to her family, her grandchildren and her home and was known for always smiling. She was a Brockton resident for the past 25 years and was a communicant of St. Edith Stein Parish. She is survived by her husband, Jose DaRosa; her children, Joao DaRosa and his wife Alice, Maria DaRosa Jordan and her husband Dana, Jose DaRosa, Antonio DaRosa, Ana DaRosa and Nilton DaRosa; her grandchildren, Anthony, Anayah and Julius. She is also survived by several cousins. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
