Laura D. Pina

NEW BEDFORD — Laura D. (DePina) Pina, 90, of New Bedford died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital.

Born in Marion, the daughter of the late Moses and Marion (Miranda) DePina, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.

She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses Congregation.

Mrs. Pina was formerly employed as a nurse's aide at St. Luke's Hospital for many years until her retirement.

Survivors include three children, John Boyd Pina and his wife, Janice of North Providence, RI, Noreen James and her husband, Theodore of New Bedford, and Vanessa Nunes of Stone Mountain, GA; a brother, Joseph DePina of New Bedford; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Anthony DePina, John DePina, Mary DePina, Caroline Monteiro, Jenny Gomes, and Evelyn Andrews.

Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 1 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 742 County St., New Bedford. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 12- 1 PM.
