Virginia Stell

Virginia T. (Barros) Stell, 88, of Apple Valley, went to meet our Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2008. She had been residing in Brockton, Mass.
Born April 8, 1919, in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Barros and Catherine (Pires) Barros. She graduated form Henry T. Wing High School in Sandwich, Mass. in 1938 as valedictorian.
She moved to Boston, married and had four children. She was very active in the Mother's Club at Morgan Memorial. Virginia worked as a stitcher most of her adult life and retired in 1975.
Virginia moved to San Diego in 1976 where she was a communicant of St. Charles Church and a member of the Cape Verdeans of Southern California. In 2003, she moved to Apple Valley to live with her son, Claudio T. Cardoza. In 2007 she went to live with her daughters, Mary Ann Rodriques and Geneva Seeratan In Massachusetts.
She is survived by her children, Geneva Seeratan of Brockton, Mass., Asia Silva of South Dartmouth, Mass., Mary Ann Rodriques of Scituate, Mass., Gerald Barros of Brockton, Mass., and Claudio T. Cardoza of Apple Valley; her sisters and brothers, Mary P. Silva of Plymouth, Mass., Madeline Fernandes of Sharon, Mass., Florence Miranda of Dorchester, Mass., August Barros of Carver, Mass., and Manuel Barros of San Diego.
Virginia was preceded in death by her sister, Ella Timas; and brother, Edward Perry. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a private interment service at 10 a.m., April 8, 2008, at Desert View Memorial Park, 11500 Amargosa Road, Victorville.
