Lewis E. DePina Jr. BOSTON — Lewis E. "Poncho" DePina, Jr., 48, of Fairhaven died Tuesday, September 9, 2008, unexpectedly at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Lewis E. and Ilda (Santos) DePina, he lived in Fairhaven all of his life.
Mr. DePina was formerly employed in the construction industry.
Survivors include parents; two sisters, Marie Almeida of New Bedford, and Leslie DePina of Georgia; two nephews, Casey and Michael "J.R."; a niece Marissa; his godmother, Julianna Perry of Acushnet; his godfather, Daniel Silva of Dartmouth; his aunts, Adelaide Gilmette, Evelyn Silva, and Shirley Silva, all of New Bedford, and Matilda Roderick of Falmouth.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 5-9 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Road, Route 6, Mattapoisett.
